Compassion Cottages
Since Katrina hit, thousands of families along the Gulf Coast are still living
in temporary housing. Will you help us make a difference in their lives?
Here's how...
Help build a Compassion Cottage. You'll
be joining a national coalition of church groups, individuals and service
organizations dedicated to providing housing for displaced families...one house
at a time and conveniently in Barrington!
See
www.compassioncottages.org for more information.
To get involved in this community-wide effort,
please call Pastor Jeanne at 847-381-0460.
Habitat for Humanity
This year St. Paul members will be
working at a habitat for humanity site. More info will be available soon.
Crop Walk
The Annual Barrington Area CROP Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday,October 19,
2008. The Walk raises money to fight hunger world-wide and in our local
communities. Please help Barrington-area churches and organizations raise funds
to support the ministries of Church World Service and local food assistance
programs.
Last year our St. Paul walkers collected $4,063.50 to aid the efforts. The 2007
community-wide total was $66,397.85. Be watching and listening as October 19
approaches to find out how you can help theCROP effort by signing-up to be a
walker or a sponsor.
This year St. Paul’s Kirk Murdock has been selected to serve as one of the two
Grand Marshalls of the 2008 CROP Walk. Kirk has been a long-time supporter of
CROP, and we look forward to having him lead the Walk. Kirk will be joined by
Co-Grand Marshall, David Kelsch of St. Anne Church.
Congratulations to Kirk and David on this well deserved honor.
